The Bijrani Forest Rest House is located in the dense forests of Jim Corbett National Park. The Bijrani Forest Rest House is open to tourists for seven months from November 15th to June 15th. Around this forest rest house, you can easily feel the presence of tigers, elephants, deer, and many birds. Although room amenities are limited, these woodland rest houses are in high demand due to their exotic location within Jim Corbett National Park. 

Rich in the diversity of flora and fauna that make up the wild forest, exploring Corbett Reserve Park’s Bijrani Zone is a breathtaking experience for nature lovers. Jim Corbett is a natural habitat for wildlife and India’s oldest tiger sanctuary, attracting animal and nature lovers from all over the world. Divided into different zones, Bijrani is one of the main zones of the Corbett Reserve and is as adventurous as the famous Dikala Zone. This zone is more popular than all others due to its tranquillity and variety of flower types. Surrounded by the breathtaking beauty of the rugged landscape, a night or two at the Bijrani Forest Rest House in the heart of the forest will be an exciting memory of your life.

The core zone of Bijrani is also considered a tiger kingdom area, so the chances of spotting tigers in their natural habitat are very high. The terrain consists mainly of huge waterways, vast grasslands called Chaurs, and dense sal forests in a relatively dry environment. 

How to Book 

Government permission is required to enter the restricted area. To stay in a forest hut with permission, you must reserve a room. To avoid any inconvenience, we recommend pre-booking Forest Rooms before coming to Jim Corbett National Park. Staying at this forest rest house is very popular with wildlife lovers, and it’s impossible to get a free room on-site without booking in advance.

How to reach 

The entrance to the Bijrani Forest Rest House is through the Aamdanda Gate. Aamdanda Gate is about 2 km from the nearest town called Ramnagar and Forest House is about 7 km from the entrance gate. To enter the closed park, you must present your entry permit to the forester at the gate.

Only authorized vehicles are allowed in the park. It is forbidden to enter the park on foot or in a private vehicle. There will be a buffer area of approximately 5 km², after which will be the core area of the Bijrani Ecotourism Zone. As soon as you drive through the gate, you’ll be greeted with stunning views of the lush green wilderness. Indulge your love of wildlife at this place and spend a day or two in a forest house and feel adventurous as if you were part of the forest. 
 

Accommodation 

At Bijrani Forest Rest House you can stay overnight in a beautifully built rest house in a wonderful forest setting.

The secluded forest house consists of 6 rooms: 4 double rooms, 2 single rooms, and 1 dormitory room with 4 beds. Although this forest inn is almost 9 km into the forest from the nearby town of Ramnagar, the accommodation and food here are exceptional. The rooms are very comfortable, the bathrooms are neat and clean, with all the basic amenities.

 Naturally ventilated and there are no electrical appliances such as air conditioners or fans. Depending on the number of guests, the rooms have wooden beds. During the day an open window is the best source of sunlight, and at night an LED lamp acts as the light source. Rooms do not have an intercom system. The rooms are equipped with a washroom. The Forest Service provides bath linen and soap in the washrooms.

Food & Beverages

The guesthouse complex has its canteen and restaurant serving delicious vegetarian buffet style at very reasonable prices. Besides, the complex has large ground areas, fenced for the safety of those staying here, where you can go for a walk or just relax under the trees. 

Particularly, non-veg and drinking in the park is strictly prohibited. Also, please be sure to store used cremains and consumables in the carrier bag and dispose of them outside the park after the tour.   

Activities 

There are many activities in Bijrani Zone that can be easily explored. Jeep safari opportunities allow you to drive deep into the jungle to spot wildlife and even see roaming tigers.  Accordingly, if you prefer, you can spend the day on a jeep safari, glimpsing the abundant wildlife and capturing it on camera. In addition to riding a jeep, you can also ride an elephant. Walk through the jungle without going deep into the forest.  

During your stay at this forest rest house, you can enjoy jeep and elephant safaris in the Bijrani Mountains in the morning and evening. A jeep safari can take up to 6 people in a jeep and up to 4 people can sit on the elephant. Since Dikala Bijrani, Elephant Back is the only safari that the rest house offers.

FAQ Regarding Bijrani Forest Rest House

Accommodation is available in the heart of the forest. Tourists can stay in designated forest huts namely Dikala, Jirna, Sultan, Gailar, and Bijrani Forest Rest Houses. In addition to these log cabins, there are several luxury resorts outside of Corbett. You can also submit a pre-booking request. 

For how long Jim Corbett Tiger Sanctuary remain closed? The Corbett Tiger Sanctuary is closed from July to October as the monsoon season approaches. This is because the roads in the park are washed away when it rains. Note: Jirna, Dhela, and Sitabani tourist zones are open to tourists all year round.

Bijrani Forest Rest House has its own canteen facility, where food and drinks are served. In addition to breakfast, lunch, and dinner, the dining room also serves tea, coffee, and snacks. All meals are vegetarian and served during canteen opening hours.
