Special Feature: Unlike other park rest houses, Gairal is further away from the river, offering a secluded forest experience. For safety, a solar-powered fence surrounds the property. The Gairal Forest Rest House is on the banks of the Ramganga river. It truly offers an experience akin to a riverside forest retreat to the tourists visiting. In order to provide safety against wild animals, the forest department at Gairal FRH has fixed solar power fencing 6 feet high surrounding the premises.

Accommodation

Choose between the historic Old FRH (1903) and New FRH.

Old FRH:

1. Two interconnected rooms with a shared dining area.
2. One room has a river view, and the other has a forest view.
3. Each room has a private western-style bathroom with running water.
4. Towels and toiletries are available upon request.
5. Bring sunscreen and moisturizer!

New FRH:

1. Four double rooms and one eight-bed dormitory (all on the ground floor for easy access).
2. Extra beds are available for a third guest in double rooms.
3. Rooms are spacious and well-ventilated.
4. No AC or fans (limited electricity via solar power in the evenings). Bring a power bank and extension cord!
5. Mosquito nets on doors and windows.

Canteen

1. Vegetarian meals are only served in the canteen and dining room.
2. Breakfast options: tea, coffee, bread, butter, jam, parathas.
3. Lunch and dinner options: one vegetable dish, lentils, rice, and roti.
4. Snacks like noodles, omelettes, tea, and coffee are available upon request (extra charge).
5. No alcohol or meat is allowed on the premises.

1. Enter through the Dhangarghi gate of Jim Corbett National Park and drive 17km through beautiful scenery.
2. The nearest train station is Ramnagar (21km away).
3. Buses connect Ramnagar to significant cities.
4. Nearest airports: Pantnagar, Delhi, and Dehradun.
5. Train station code for Ramnagar: RMR.
6. You can drive your car to the Dhikala entry gate (Dhangarghi gate).
