Queens Meadows by Sunshine & Smiles

What is so special about the land?

  1. Queen Meadows Ranikhet believes in sustainable development and puts out great effort to honor and protect the vulnerable Himalayan Eco System. Being a naturally balanced resort, they work diligently to reduce their environmental impact alongside their visitors. They take great pride in having achieved total integration with the local nature and host community.
  2. Queens Meadows was created with a focus on embracing nature and appreciating all that it has to offer. The Himalayas remain treasures for future generations to enjoy and adore. Several steps were taken from the design stage to the construction stage. They have taken care to avoid hurting the ecology and the environment. Mother Nature, provides everything for everyone’s needs, but not for greed.
  3. To improve the resort’s environmental profile, utilizing timber and other building materials from decrepit British military buildings at the surrounding army cantonment was a crucial tactic. Building materials for the villas, administrative buildings, and tents were purchased in an auction.
  4. Instead of utilizing diesel-guzzling trucks, local laborers delivered all building materials on mules or head loads. Hand tools were used throughout the whole excavation process. This helped to ensure that bulldozers and other heavy machinery were never brought onto the land.
  5. The Resort was built without removing any trees. This indicates that the resort’s construction was planned to complement the natural setting. No ground was excavated or filled to make room for the floor plans. As a result, you’ll notice the villas’ peculiar shapes.
  6. The employment at Queen Meadows Ranikhet has benefited 20 families from neighboring villages. They are producing larger economic advantages for the local population and improving the well-being of the host community. They give them full-time employment that is not reliant on seasonal farming.

Blossoming Spring

During March & April i.e. the arrival of spring signals the end of the bitterly cold and snowy winter as flowers and trees start to bloom. Snow continues to melt, and the grass starts to reemerge. In March, it’s easy to see the snow-covered northwest Himalayas, but by April, it starts to get a little harder to see. The temperature at night is between 5-8 degrees Celsius, while the daytime goes from 18 to 22 degrees.

Golden Summers

During May and June, i.e. the summers in Ranikhet are milder than those on aero-planes. The maximum temperature is around 30 degrees and the minimum temperature is around 8 degrees Celsius. Throughout the summer, you’ll experience mild breezes and notice the hillsides turning green and covered in wildflowers. Peaches, plums, and apricots have a scrumptious flavor that is best enjoyed in the summer. Although it can be challenging to see the Himalayan snow peaks at this time of the year.

Romantic Monsoons

From July to September, when it rains, the hills and mountains turn a vivid shade of green. It seems as though you are in heaven as the clouds descend into the valley. You can handpick fresh apples, pears, walnuts, and chestnuts throughout the monsoon season. The rich green and silvery grey skies of the cloudy day make the wildflowers sparkle brilliantly. You will undoubtedly see a rainbow as well. If you’re fortunate and the clouds part, you might be able to see vistas of Nandadevi that are occasionally even clearer than those in the winter. The minimum temperature is a comfortable 14 to 12 degrees, and the maximum temperature is often 22 to 20 degrees.

Dewy Autumn

During October and November, the most beautiful views of the Himalayas’ snow-capped summits become visible. The fruiting trees start to wilt and their green leaves turn amber. These peaks reflect the Sun and sparkle like gold mines. The minimum temperature dips to almost 5 degrees, and the maximum temperature hovers below 20 degrees.

Snowy Winters

December to February is the finest time to see the Nandadevi range because of the new snow that covers the towering peaks. You may take in the breathtaking Himalayan vistas as you warm yourself with a cup of tea in the winter sun. If you’re fortunate, you could even get to see snow falling. In addition to the Himalayas, the starry, diamond-studded night sky is a once-in-a-lifetime treat. The temperature is below freezing during the day but may drop below zero or perhaps to single digits at night.
